ReStore Yard Sale at the Southern Ideal Home Show

Thanks to those who browsed and shopped at the ReStore Yard Sale at the Fall 2008 Southern Ideal Home Show.

We were near the NC Sustainable Energy Association's "Green Home" in the Green Building Pavilion. The pavilion featured a returning, expanded showcase of products, information and resources available on environmentally sound construction, technology, landscaping, conservation and home-keeping techniques.

A Retail Store with Heart

Sometimes doing one good deed leads to another. Shoppers and people who donate building materials and wood furniture help build homes in Wake County. ReStore proceeds help support our day-to-day operations of building homes and creating affordable homeownership opportunities.

"We've extended the notion of stewardship for one's neighbor to stewardship of the environment," said John Stees, ReStore Director of Operations. "While our primary goal is to generate proceeds for building homes, many shoppers are keen to the idea that they're keeping building materials out of landfills."

Discounted Inventory for Your Home Projects

The ReStore, an innovative discount retail store, collects new and used building materials from community donors and salvages materials through a pioneering DeConstruction program.

At the Habitat Wake ReStore you'll find items such as cabinets, refrigerators less than five years old, dining room hutches, tile, lumber, hardware, lights, chairs and remnant carpet.
