MetLife, a leading global life insurance and employee benefits company, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County as a Platinum Hammer Sponsor.
The partnership with Habitat Wake celebrates MetLife’s new hub for its global technology and operations unit, which will be located in Cary. A Platinum Hammer sponsorship provides the construction costs for an entire Habitat Wake home. In addition, MetLife employees will work alongside the partner family and other volunteers to build the home, which will be near White Oak Villas in Apex. This home is one of 42 in Wake County being constructed by Habitat Wake, its sponsors, and partner families this year.
“Habitat Wake is grateful to the MetLife Foundation for helping to provide an affordable home for a Wake County family,” said Kevin Campbell, President/CEO of Habitat Wake. “Homeownership will be transformative for this family, and we think that the MetLife team members who help build the home will be rewarded by the experience as well.”
“We too are in the process of building a new home in this community,” said Jim O’Donnell, MetLife’s Chief Technology Officer, Global Technology and Operations. “We are honored to be a neighbor and a partner to Habitat Wake, and our team members can’t wait to help build in Apex.”
The new MetLife technology campus, located off Weston Parkway in northern Cary, will open in 2015.
