At Habitat Wake we are deeply saddened by the devastation of Hurricane Helene, particularly the communities in the western part of North Carolina and our sister Habitat organizations there. For so many people in our state, safe and stable housing just became a much more immediate need.
Our Habitat neighbors in western North Carolina will need support in rebuilding once they assess damage and account for their staff, homeowners, and volunteers. We know rebuilding efforts will be long and require many resources over many years. Through October 19, all round-ups on purchases at any of the 10 Triangle-area ReStores or via our donation drivers will support western NC Habitat for Humanity organizations. We will work with these Habitats to determine how to disburse funds depending on need and capacity.
Our prayers are with all of those displaced from their homes, and the many relief workers, utility workers, first responders and volunteers who have come to their aid.
