We are very excited to welcome our new Director of Advocacy, Jacquie Ayala!
Jacquie joins Habitat Wake after nine years working as a community organizer and advocate. She has organized young people to act on climate change, mobilized voters for local, state, and federal elections, and advocated for safe and affordable housing in North Carolina.
Jacquie is passionate about building thriving, equitable communities that prioritize affordable housing, public transit, and green space. Jacquie recently earned her master’s degree in public policy from Duke University’s Sanford School and holds a bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College in Florida. She has worked as an organizer with the NC Justice Center, the Sierra Club and Southern Energy Network, among other organizations.
