Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. We’ve been busy, both on our construction sites and in putting together a plan of action for our Fiscal Year 2012, which begins in July. I’m excited to report to you that our plan is to serve 70 families in FY12, up from 47 in FY11. We are planning to build or rehabilitate 25 homes in Wake County, serve 20 families through our A Brush With Kindness exterior home repair program, and finally 25 families with new homes in the Central American country of Honduras. For each home built in Wake County, we will donate $4,500 to Habitat Honduras, the cost to build an entire home there! Keep an eye out for news about building trips to Honduras later in the year. We are also planning to expand our ReStore operations by opening a second store location later this year in Cary. Our ReStore sales are up 37% over last year and we look forward to continuing that positive trend, diverting more and more items from landfills into reuse, and simultaneously generating cash to serve more and more families in need of housing. That’s the plan for FY12. Now we just need partners! Please join us. We have many opportunities—something to fit everyone.
